Pregnancy

Pregnancy is an incredible season of change — physically, emotionally, and hormonally — and no two pregnancies are ever the same. From the very earliest weeks through to birth preparation, your body is constantly adapting to support both your growing baby and your own changing needs. Each trimester and even the weeks within them, brings unique shifts in nutrient demands, hormones, energy, digestion, mood, sleep and overall wellbeing.

While pregnancy can be deeply exciting, it can also feel overwhelming navigating the endless advice around what you should and shouldn’t eat, take or do. Many women are also told that symptoms such as exhaustion, nausea, reflux, headaches, anxiety, pain or poor sleep are “just part of pregnancy” and something they simply need to push through. While some symptoms can certainly be common, that does not mean you should feel unsupported or left to struggle through them alone.

Pregnancy does not always feel straightforward, and for some women this season can come with additional concerns, closer monitoring or previous difficult experiences that understandably create stress and uncertainty. Individualised naturopathic care can provide additional support alongside your medical team during more complex pregnancies, helping you feel more supported, informed and cared for throughout the journey. Some concerns I find requiring more comprehensive support throughout pregnancy are:

Previous Difficult Pregnancies or Pregnancy Loss

Gestational Diabetes

Pre-eclampsia Risk or History

Hyperthyroid or Hypothyroid Conditions

Support For More Complex Pregnancies

Anaemia and Nutrient Deficiencies

Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP)

Immune or Autoimmune Conditions

Significant Fatigue, Inflammation or Hormonal Concerns

At Nest & Nourish, pregnancy care is focused on helping you feel informed, supported, nourished and well throughout every stage of your pregnancy. Care is personalised, evidence-based, and designed to safely support both maternal and baby health and is tailored to your changing needs.

Supportive naturopathic care can work alongside your existing antenatal team, including your GP, obstetrician, midwife or doula, helping provide additional guidance and whole-body support throughout your pregnancy journey.
